Namaste, I am Babita Shrestha. I am a plant-based chef, photographer, graphic designer, and the author of "Plant-Based Himalaya".My love affair with food began in Nepal's Terai region, where I learned traditional cooking from my mother, a skill that blossomed into a lifelong passion. My world expanded further with moves to Kathmandu and then the United States, where I honed my artistic talents, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from St. Cloud State University.Drawing inspiration from my Nepali roots and global experiences, I create innovative plant-based dishes that bridge cultures and tantalize the senses. I am a devotee of Ayurvedic practices, local food movements, and organic farming.Driven by a love of exploration and a desire to reconnect with my roots, I returned to Nepal in 2020. Nestled near the majestic Annapurna Mountains, I found inspiration in the fresh produce grown in my backyard and the vibrant culture that surrounded me.Motherhood has added another layer of joy to my life, and I cherish every moment spent nurturing my family and my love for cooking. Currently, I live in Lexington, Kentucky with my husband Charles and daughter Saraswati.
